OASIS Concurrent Disorders Support Group

OASIS is an ongoing, open support group for individuals facing challenges related to concurrent disorders. The group is facilitated by staff from St. Leonard’s and CMHA, and is appropriate for people using a harm reduction or abstinence goal in their recovery.
Goals:
- To learn new coping strategies and skills to manage mental health and addiction related issues. For example: stress management, developing goals, conflict resolution, effective communication, forming new relationships, recognizing triggers, challenging negative thoughts, self-care, navigating the health care system and understanding diagnoses.
- To provide a supportive environment for individual to share their feelings and thoughts about their recovery
Structure: Discussion focused, light psycho-educational component.
Stage of Change: Any stage of change
Referral Process: Open to the community. No referral required.
When: Thursdays, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Where: In person, CMHA BHN Office (Brantford site), Chelsea Place Building, 44 King Street, Suite 203, Brantford
Eligibility Criteria
Age: 18+
Legal Status: Voluntary
Other: Concurrent disorder – mental health issue(s) and addiction(s)
