Keynote speaker: John Robertson will speak on the topic of “Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace”
Other presenters and topics include;
- Tim Metcalfe, Emergency Service Consultant for the Public Services Health and Safety Association, speaking on “Next Steps for First Responders”,
- Markus Schneider, Modo Yoga Brantford, will speak on the “Effects of Stress on the Mind and Body”
- Panel Presentation comprised of: Blaine Phibbs, a former Federal Correctional Officer II, who was involved with a high profile incident during his last shift. This experience motivated him to become a member of Boots on the Ground, acting as a peer support advocate, helping others navigate mental health, WSIB, legal and return to work processes;Holly McDonald, formerly with the Ministry of Community Safety & Corrections. Today, an Individual and Family Therapist (private practice) and author of the book, “Finding Serenity”; Georgia Sonnenberg, Probation and Parole Officer, Ministry of the Solicitor General . The panel presenters will share their stories of work-related trauma, with an emphasis on how they got well, and are staying well.
